Chapter 8. Mid-Semester Examination (UTS)

The Mid-Semester Examination follows the materials on Indonesia’s regional characteristics, disaster types and patterns, social, economic and environmental impacts, community-based mitigation, mitigation planning, and risk communication. It serves to assess students’ understanding of the concepts and issues presented before they proceed to the subsequent materials. The table of contents places the examination on pages 75–78, with Chapter 9 beginning on page 79. The assessment includes questions that test conceptual understanding and analytical ability concerning mitigation, including community participation, plan evaluation, technology use, and the relationship between modern approaches and local knowledge.
